Voting Rules in South Dakota
Photo ID requested. Voters without ID may sign an affidavit.
Any registered voter may request an absentee ballot.
In-person absentee voting available at county auditor offices 46 days before Election Day.
Voter registration must be completed by October 19, 2026. Registration by mail or in person only.
Registration deadline is 15 days before Election Day.
Polls are open from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Election Day. If you are in line when polls close you are entitled to vote.
