Voting Rules in Rhode Island
Photo ID requested. Voters without ID may sign an affidavit to cast a regular ballot.
Any registered voter may request a mail ballot.
In-person early voting available 20 days before Election Day.
Voter registration must be completed by October 4, 2026. Online registration is available.
Same-day registration available for presidential/vice-presidential voting only.
Polls are open from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Election Day. If you are in line when polls close you are entitled to vote.
