Voting Rules in North Carolina
Strict photo ID required. Voters without ID must cast a provisional ballot.
Any registered voter may request a mail-in absentee ballot.
Early in-person voting available 17 days before Election Day.
Voter registration must be completed by October 9, 2026. Online registration is available.
Same-day registration available during the early voting period only — not on Election Day.
Polls are open from 6:30 AM – 7:30 PM on Election Day. If you are in line when polls close you are entitled to vote.
