Voting Rules in New York
No ID required for established registered voters.
Any registered voter may request a mail-in ballot without an excuse.
Early in-person voting available 10 days before Election Day.
Voter registration must be completed by October 24, 2026. Online registration is available.
No same-day registration. Mail and in-person applications must be received about 10 days before Election Day (by Oct 24, 2026).
Polls are open from 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM on Election Day. If you are in line when polls close you are entitled to vote.
