Voting Rules in Maryland
No ID required for established registered voters. First-time voters who registered by mail may need ID.
Any registered voter may request a mail-in ballot. Maryland also automatically sends mail-in ballot applications to registered voters.
Early voting available 8 days before Election Day.
Voter registration must be completed by October 13, 2026. Online registration is available.
Same-day registration available during early voting and on Election Day.
Polls are open from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Election Day. If you are in line when polls close you are entitled to vote.
