Voting Rules in Iowa
ID required to vote; non-photo ID accepted. Voters without ID may sign a sworn statement.
Any registered voter may request an absentee ballot. Request deadline is 15 days before the election.
Early in-person voting (satellite absentee) available 29 days before Election Day.
Voter registration must be completed by October 19, 2026. Online registration is available.
Registration deadline is 15 days before Election Day.
Polls are open from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Election Day. If you are in line when polls close you are entitled to vote.
